Dear Friend: Letter To A Non-Believer

I wrote this letter thinking about the closest people to me that I know do not have Jesus in their hearts yet. Do you know somebody like that? Its tough knowing that someone that you care about so much, doesn't have a relationship with the one who made them and loves them without condition. So, I used this as a way to "vent" my feelings and thoughts. Do you ever do this? I think it helps!

Dear Friend,

I'm writing this to you in regards of love. You are my best friend, and I only wish the best for you. I know that you are destined with many great opportunities to do amazing things. You are so smart, and talented, and blessed. But I do not think that you see it, not yet. You see something ugly, something awkward, something without purpose. Oh, but my friend, you are quite anything but those things!! Its as if someone has put a sheet over your eyes, clouding your vision from seeing what actually is. And not only am I talking about yourself, I am also talking about Jesus.

Now, Friend, I know you do not want to hear what I am about to say. But I feel that by not sharing this with you, I am keeping some magnificent, life-altering secret from you. And that is so wrong. Why keep medicine from a dying person? Why keep water from the dehydrated? Why keep Jesus from someone who needs Him?

I mean, really, how could anyone not want Jesus? That's how it feels to me. You cannot earn His love, it is given to you, all you must do is accept it. Do something wrong -- horribly, awfully wrong? Doesn't matter, He'll forgive you. His mercy is so great. Friend, this man was God's only son, and God sent him to DIE for YOU, so that you could be His friend. Died, so that you could be His friend. That is love, my friend.

My heart aches that one day you will see Him. He's right in front of you. Turn around, He's there too. Everywhere you look, God's glorious creation stands. The wind blows, the flowers dance, the birds sing, and the people laugh. But still you say no, He is not there. And I stand by, watching you go on, living without somewhere to run when you're scared, loving without knowing true love, asking myself why, what can I do? I can mention Him to you, but you turn your ear the other way. I've tried to plant a seed, but is it sprouting? I am getting impatient, but I know that God's timing is right, so I wait, my faith and trust in the Lord.

I pray for you. Constantly, hopefully, whole-heartedly. I do not know if you'll read this, Friend, but if you do, know that even if it takes 20 years or more, I know that someday you will find God. I believe it in the deepest parts of my heart.

Friend, Jesus loves you. You are beautiful, talented, smart, and so much more. I am proud to call you my best friend, and one day I hope to call you Family in Christ. Know that I love you (in a Jesus way), and will always be here for you. I pray that this letter reaches you, and touches your heart. You deserve the best, and I am certain with my all that Jesus is the best of the best.

Sincerely,
With Love,
Me
