You are probably in one of two groups. You either think that I am lying or am hoping that I am right. Group 1 is in for a big surprise and Group 2 will be praising God! When we feel like we'd rather be anyone else than who we are, that is a sure sign that God is doing something big. I've had my fair share of storms. Its hard, and especially difficult to rise from the ashes when you've reached the lowest you thought you could possibly go. But even Lazarus can rise, and girls, he was DEAD! John 1:1-44 is all about overcoming extremely hard times. (Its the story of Lazarus). Ladies, if God can raise a man from the dead, I believe that He can raise us from our deepest darkest holes. He can bring us through the raging storm!
The photo above is SO true. Which one is God doing right now in your storm? If He is calming your storm,
We each experience are own types of storms. Some of us constantly go through school storms, when we fail a class (or two), forget our homework, or accidently get on a teacher's bad side. Others might go through emotional storms, when we cry for no reason, get stressed over "silly" stuff, or get into a fight with your best friend because you were in a bad mood that day. One really tough storm to be in is a drama storm. That's when you find yourself all wrapped up in boy issues, cussing excessively, thinking in a lustful way, or spreading gossip like the flu. Ladies, your storm could be entirely different, but they are all one in the same here. Whatever your issue, your storm, know that with a little faith, and some perseverance, God can and will help you overcome it!
Genesis 9:1-17 is the end of the story of Noah, the part when God puts a rainbow in the sky as a promise. A promise that He will never destroy His creation by flood, by a storm of water, again.
Genesis 9:17 (ESV) says, " God said to Noah, " This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all the flesh that is on the earth."
But what about in the long run? Will your life always be this horrible? No way! It may seem like it, on the physical side of it. But on the spiritual side, if you have Jesus in your heart and believe that God will walk with you the whole entire way, you'll have a more positive outlook and life will get better! Have you ever been told about God's plans for you? You're like, wait, He has plans for me? Yeah, He does!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (ESV) says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not evil, to give you future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."
Ladies, there is no boy, no bully, no stress, no failure, no storm, that God cannot get you through. He's raised a man from the dead, healed tons of people, and He loves you! For goodness sake, He sent His only son to DIE for you! I'm pretty darn sure He will help you find the rainbow. Stay strong during the storm and have faith, the light at the end of the tunnel is only a walk with God away...
Thanks Courtney Erin, this really helped me cus' I'm kind of going through a storm right now!
